Throughout the training, our facilitators will emphasize the essential project and risk management challenges that must be addressed in order to successfully complete drilling projects.

Drilling a well is an expensive venture and if not properly managed the cost of drilling can escalate and impact negatively the success of the drilling project. Proper planning of any drilling venture is the key to optimizing operations and minimizing expenditures. Project management plays a key role in drilling activities, which is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements.

Risk management is not only the execution of the oil drilling project, but also includes the environment and operation management.  The training program takes into account the personnel who will be participating in the project’s development, it also prepares them on how to improve time and cost estimation of the well when the team assesses risks.

It is critical to understand how risk management and project management play a role in successful drilling activities. In the course of this training participants will learn project and risk management principles, as well as how to apply these principles during drilling operation activities, FES personnel will receive holistic, multi-disciplinary, and integrated management.

The primary goal of this training is to prepare participants how to apply critical project and risk management concepts required to run drilling projects in a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly manner.

Participants will be able to participate in and learn about project planning and design, contract models, and drilling programs. Tendering and contracting strategy, project finance and administration, supply chain management, and project closeouts will also be covered. The course will also cover HSEQ management systems, risk management processes, risk management levels, and operational risk management and analysis.

By the training end of the training, FES personnel will be familiar with key issues and principles associated with drilling projects and risk management, as well as how to apply this learned skill on the job.
