The Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) has signed a training contract with Cainergy Training Services, in collaboration with Skylark Dynamic Investment Limited, to train its workers on a two-week CSR capacity-building program on corporate governance and reputation management.

This training is designed specifically for senior managers and all individuals within the NPDC who share responsibility for developing brand and reputation, particularly in the areas of corporate governance, and who are also responsible for implementing best practices in the organization, which is critical in moving the organization forward.

Strong and effective corporate governance helps to foster an integrity-driven company culture, which leads to higher performance and a more sustainable organization overall. Essentially, it exists to increase the accountability of all employees and teams inside the company, with the goal of preventing mistakes from arising in the first place, which might sometimes appear unavoidable.

While reputation management assists a company in gaining trust. As a result, favorable evaluations might increase potential clients’ trust in the company. A high reputation indicates that the company is more reputable than its competitors, and companies such as Nigerian Petroleum Development, which have competitors all over the world, understood the need for this training for its employees.
